Made in New Zealand, for New Zealand teachers

Heapso helps you plan lessons, units, worksheets and slides in minutes, so you have more time and energy for the teaching itself.

Kia ora, I'm Pip

A pīwakawaka (New Zealand fantail)

Why Heapso?

In New Zealand English, "heaps" means lots: thanks heaps, heaps good, heaps on this term. Add the easy-going Kiwi "-o" (like arvo and smoko) and you get Heapso: heaps of planning, sorted.

Give Heapso one idea and it helps you make a heap of things around it: the lesson, the slides, a worksheet at three levels and a quiz. You check it, change whatever you like and teach it. Heaps done, evenings back.

Meet Pip

Pip is a pīwakawaka, the fantail that follows you along a bush track. That's the helper we want to be: close by while you work, cheerful, and never in the way. Pip's tail fans out into lesson cards, one for each thing Heapso makes.

  • Sticks closeFantails love to follow people along bush tracks, catching the insects we stir up.
  • Found all over AotearoaYou'll spot them in the bush, in parks and in plenty of school grounds.
  • That famous tailWhen it fans out wide, it looks a little like a spread of lesson cards.

What we believe

A few simple ideas guide everything we make.

  • Teachers are the experts

Heapso drafts and you decide. Everything is editable, and nothing is presented as curriculum gospel.

  • Built for New Zealand

Plans are aligned to the NZ Curriculum and NCEA, written in NZ English with correct macrons, and use Year levels, not "7th grade".

  • Te reo Māori, with care

Te reo Māori is optional and off by default. When you turn it on, Pip uses macrons, gives the English alongside and is told not to make up cultural content. Read our approach.

  • Fair, simple pricing

Unlimited planning under fair use for NZ$7 a month or NZ$69 a year, and school seats that get cheaper as more of your staff join.

  • Privacy first

Heapso is made for teachers, not students, and we'll gently remind you if a prompt includes a student's details. How we handle data.

  • Come and plan with us

It's free to start, and you don't need a card.
